As you can imagine the Cook Strait crossing can be a gnarly race if the conditions are right.

Boats race from Lyall Bay to Torry Chanel and back. The swells can reach up to 1 - 2 metres, however the race can be called of if conditions are too windy or the swells are too big for the boats and crew to handle.
