Plumbquick has been racing since the 97/98 series and are now onto their 5th race boat (Ceasar F8) and still with Yamaha engines. They have raced as a team since 1998. They have competed in the Trans-Tasman challenges in 1999, 2003 and 2009, the Tri-Nations series at Gold Coast, Australia in 2000 and NZ vs South Africa in 2002. The Steve's also competed in the Trans Aghulas 1000km race, run over 5 days, down the coast of South Africa in 2002 and 2004. This team has the uncanny ability to alternate being the driver, so you never know who will be running up the beach. Crew Steve Frogley and Steve Morrison split up in 2009 to enable Steve Morrison to pilot the Smuggler boat for the Trans-Tasman series. But they are back together for the 2010 National series.
I'm a plumber by trade. I started racing in 1997/8 and I'm still racing!! Competed in Trans-Tasman events in Australia 1998, 1999 and 2003 plus Tri-Nations against South Africa and Australia in 2000 and NZ vs South Africa in 2002. Completed the Trans Aguhlas race in South Africa (1000km over 5 days) in 2003 and 2005. Generally always in the top 10 NZ boats but never cracked the top 3 (probably due to a social rather than racing focus). Poor performance (not necessarily old age) this year resulted in an NZ 8 placing. Proud to be part of the NZ "Dads Army team" competing in Australia in 09.
Steve is an experienced driver and co-pilot in the Plumb Quick boat. He has been racing for 12 years and has previously competed in the Trans Aghulas, Tri-nations, Trans Tasmans and the Gravity games. Steve own Linkplas a plastic bottle manufacturing company and he would like to progress to racing his own boat in the future. A young and agile co-pilot.
