SMUGGLER MARINE

This is the 4th season for Smuggler Marine racing this year for the first time in a Aquarius Aquacat with a Yamaha, previously Smuggler Marine have raced in a Ceasar F8 with a Yamaha on board. Rookie team Logan and David Pringle (father and son) competed in the 2008/09 season in a very eventful and exciting season. The 09 season bought winning club days at Pauanui, Te Arai and Raglan. Chosen to be in the 2009 Trans Tasman Challenge held on the Gold Coast was the high, with Logan as co-pilot and the boat driven by Steve (Moro) Morrison. The Smuggler boat came 4th overall, 2nd NZ boat. The new season is shaping up to be a goodie, with co-pilot Chris Wells teaming up for his second session with Logan driving, they are a lightweight fast combination. Logan Pringle

Logan is a Builder aged 21 years old. It's his 4th season racing and has had invaluable experiences as both a co-pilot and now driver. Logan competed in Trans Tasman June 2009. Logan enjoys racing thundercats for the buzz and he's a thrillseeker, that's why he's been racing thundercats now for a number of years and keeps coming back just for the thrill that comes with it. He says it's too good fun to do anything else!

Chris Wells

Chris is in his 2nd year of racing after a very sucsessful 1st year with Smuggler Marine. Taking out 2nd in the Nationals and 1st in the Club competition. Chris is 24yrs old and lives in Bombay where he owns his own Homekill business. This keeps him busy in between weekends away with boat racing, quad bike racing, fishing and hunting. Recently turned Pro Muay Thai kickboxer and NZ Champ. This keeps him fit for the big hits the co-pilot's take up front. Chris says he loves Thundercat racing as he gets a thrill out of the big jumps and close racing that the sport provides.
